300 exhibitor and 10000 experts gather in one platform to display the latest trends in the furniture industry

DIFAC, a gold opportunity for the regional brands to promote internationally their businesses

Dubai, UAE, 9 January 2017: Dubai International Furniture Accessories & Components & Semi-Finished Products Show (DIFAC) is announced to host more than 10,000 quality trade professionals from the MENA region and beyond in order to promote and display their latest products.

The event will be held in conjunction with Dubai Wood Show from 7th to 9th of March 2017 in Dubai World Trade Centre and will attract 300 exhibitors from 100 countries around the world.

According to Dubai Exports ‘furniture and furnishings –  exports markets and potential’ report, the UAE has imported a value of around USD 244 million of mattress supports, articles of bedding and similar furnishing in 2015 with a global value of imports exceeding USD 14 billion.

“This first edition aims at setting up a solid platform to promote the furniture industry regionally, to encourage the communication between the different professionals from suppliers, manufacturers, trade association and institutions, and to enhance these economic connections,” commented Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organizers of DIFAC.

Exhibitors will get the occasion to deal directly with key visitors and players from the wood industry, which will allow them to expand their professional networks and to create real business opportunities.

According to “World Furniture” magazine, “there are some rising mega trends affecting the way people live globally, particularly in the advanced economies, including the growing mobility of families and the spreading of web connectivity implying that a wider range of diverse activities is conducted at home, from home office to entertainment. These factors and others are impacting the furniture consumption too and manufacturers are targeting to meet emerging and changing demand through an evolving offer of products.”

The paper confirms that the global trends induce “multi-functionality of products, lightweight furniture, performing surfaces, comfort in soft furnishings, a trend toward natural wood, and increasing attention to certified ecolabel, not only for the furniture structure but also for the finishing material.”

DIFAC 2017 will focus on these new trends allowing participants to learn about how to keep a differential advantage in a changing global market.

“This is true, in this event, regional professionals from designers and manufacturers as well as traders who seek to give the best offer to the local demand that is oriented toward luxury and high tech gadgets; will discover the latest industry trends, technologies. The regional brands will get a platform to market their products in a higher scale. Like an international benchmark, they will get an insight on the global market which will enable them to come up with modern ideas,” added Al Shezawi.

The demand in UAE is determined by several factors including the population, the demographic profile, the constructions’ projects and the tourism and hospitality expansion plans.
