    NBAD Launches E-Academy

    Abu Dhabi (March 23rd , 2014) – The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has launched NBAD E-Academy, a state-of-the-art multifaceted learning and knowledge platform that enhances the development of NBAD staffs’ skills and optimises NBAD’s delivery of services and products.

    “We are delighted to launch NBAD E-Academy, which confirms our commitment to develop the skills of employees and maximise their potential. This in turn ensures that NBAD continues to be a trendsetter and delivers the best products and services to our core customers,” said Ehab Hassan, NBAD’s Group Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Managing Director.

    NBAD E-Academy works in custom-made modules. It offer more than 600 hours of financial e-learning modules accredited by top international associations; such as Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Institute of Banking & Finance (IBF), Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); and Certified Public Accountants (CPA).

    “Continuous learning and development is a core value of NBAD’s corporate culture. Pursuing this approach has confirmed our leading position as employer of choice and made NBAD an award-winning leader in the financial services industry.” Mr. Hassan added.

    At the heart of NBAD’s learning culture is the state-of-the-art NBAD Academy with two facilities in Abu Dhabi and Northern Emirates, where internationally-renown institutions teach up-to-date courses to NBAD employees. NBAD staff members routinely attend skills-boosting training programmes at the NBAD Academy.
    “NBAD E-Academy is a step further in our aim to help make Abu Dhabi a hub of excellence,” said Paula Mcmanus, Group Head of Talent at NBAD.

    “Investing in our employees’ career development will ultimately support the achievement of our business strategies through staff commitment and engagement, increased retention rates, and the enhancement our intellectual assets. The Academy’s curriculum aims to support the achievement of business goals.” Ms. Mcmanus added.
    NBAD’s learning culture also includes a number of programmes that strengthen and advance the banking career of UAE nationals.

    NBAD’s Emiratisation programmes are the AFAQ Management trainee Programme, which allows fresh graduates to pursue Master’s degree in Finance which they gain practical experience in the office or branch; Al Sadara employees study for a Masters in International Business and gain work experience simultaneously; Tomouh that offers sponsorship to young UAE nationals who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements to pursue bachelor degrees at prestigious international universities; and Al Bedaya for UAE nationals who start work after high school.
