Bank recognized by Visa for exclusive ‘Go4it’ credit card that

makes travel on RTA transit network faster and easier

Visa_Logo_for_releaseDubai, April 27, 2013: Visa, one of the world’s leading payment solutions providers, has recognized its partners Emirates NBD and the Roads & Transport Authority of Dubai [RTA] for the launch of the co-branded ‘Go4it’ Credit Card in the UAE. The Go4it Card is a 2-in-1 card that integrates the Credit Card along with the NOL e-purse on one plastic.

A ground-breaking step in the area of public-private partnership set by Visa, Emirates NBD and the RTA, the ‘Go4it’ card was the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East that combined the features of a Credit Card and the proprietary NOL transit application used for making payments on the RTA network and parking meters.

Visa-ENBD-RTA partnershipFollowing the launch of the ‘Go4it’ Credit Card in late 2011, Emirates NBD has witnessed a remarkable growth in the number of customers as a result of the convenience and safety measures offered, along with compelling rewards and lifestyle privileges.

The unique and exclusive auto top-up feature enables the Emirates NBD ‘Go4it’ Visa cardholders to automatically top up their NOL and Salik accounts from the linked ‘Go4it’ Credit Card account, ensuring ease of travel through all RTA-related transit points.

Marcello Baricordi, General Manager – UAE at Visa Inc., said: “Visa is known for bringing global practices to the markets where we operate by designing and localizing them along with our partners in line with the needs of our consumers. Our partnership with Emirates NBD and RTA ensures that the millions of people who use Visa cards take advantage of the available services to enhance their lifestyle offering them greater purchasing power, security, value and convenience.

“As a result of this, we have achieved unprecedented success with the ‘Go4it’ Credit Card from Emirates NBD and we would like to thank them for their innovation and excellence. This card is the epitome of our combined strengths aimed at offering maximum convenience and time-saving features for our customer,” he added.

Ahmed Marzouqi, General Manager – Retail Distribution at Emirates NBD, said “Emirates NBD is proud of the collaboration with Visa and Government of Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority. The strong partnership has resulted in a product that has been widely accepted by our common customers and we are thrilled with the success the card has shown since launch in 2011. The amazing growth achieved on the Visa ‘Go4it’ Credit Card reinforces our commitment to offer best-in-class products and a seamless experience to our customers.”

Mr. Mohammed Mudharreb, Director – RTA, said “At RTA, we are proud of our leadership in innovative service initiatives that create value for our customers. The synergistic partnership with Visa and Emirates NBD is an important milestone for us and allows us to offer unparalleled convenience and rewards for our common customers. We are extremely pleased with the progress and uptake of the ‘Go4it’ Visa Credit Card and look forward to further innovative collaborations with Visa and Emirates NBD.”

The ‘Go4it’ Visa Credit Card is available in two variants – Go4it Platinum and Go4it Gold – and includes all the functionalities of a normal credit card, including rewards, loyalty points and lifestyle benefits. It comes with a complimentary life insurance cover and a unique lifestyle protector insurance for household expenses, with travel accident and inconvenience insurance cover.

Visa has extensive experience in implementing similar transportation card programs globally in markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong and the UK.
