    CIMB Principal Islamic Asset Management voted as the Islamic Investment Institution of the Year 2012

    Manama, Bahrain: 20 May 2012: The achievements, innovations and excellence in the global Islamic funds and investments industry were recognized today at the 8th Annual World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference (WIFFMC 2012) awards ceremony which was held at the Gulf Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The annual WIFFMC Islamic Investment Institution of the Year Award, which is one of the most prestigious in the industry, is designed to recognize institutions that have made a significant contribution to the global Islamic funds and investments industry. The Award recognizes a leading institution that has demonstrated outstanding achievements and institutional excellence in major performance areas.

    CIMB Principal Islamic Asset Management was voted as the 2012 WIFFMC Islamic Investment Institution of the Year from a short-list of nominees through an industry-based voting process.

    CIMB Principal Islamic Asset Management’s nomination for the award was based on their superior and consistent performance of their funds, based on a disciplined investment process. CIMB-Principal Islamic has been successfully able to provide a compelling value proposition for their investors, supported by good portfolio risk management practices and continuous diligent risk oversight. Their winning of this award also reflects the pioneering initiatives undertaken by CIMB Principal Islamic Asset Management that has enabled them to bring a wide variety of investment capabilities to the market.

    Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Baker, Executive Director – Financial Institutions Supervision, Central Bank of Bahrain presented the award to Datuk Noripah Kamso, Chief Executive of CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management at the luncheon hosted by the Central Bank of Bahrain along the sidelines of the 8th Annual World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference (WIFFMC 2012).
