Abu Dhabi (May 22, 2014) – The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Middle East Awards named the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) as the BCM Team of the Year 2014.

BCI Middle East Awards recognises outstanding contribution of business continuity professionals and organisations in the Middle East.

As the winner of the BCM Team of the Year 2014, NBAD automatically entered into the BCI Global Awards, which will take place in London in November.

“I thank BCI for establishing the gauge for excellence and for promoting measures and tactics to ensure business continuity and recovery,” says Dr. Lamees Abdul Majeed AlQaisi, the Group Head of Business Continuity Management at NBAD. “I’m very pleased with my team and I send them special congratulations for this award.”

NBAD’s Business Continuity Centre facilities are equipped to allow the Bank to continue its operations and support clients in case of emergencies. The Bank upgraded its Business Continuity Centre last year, and operates with the best practices to ensure continuity in the event of disruption to regular operations.

BCI, founded in 1994, is the world’s leading institute for business continuity professionals. It has now over 8,000 members operating in 100 countries across 3,000 organisations.
