Christian Behaghel appointed head of Societe Generale Global Transaction Banking

Christian Behaghel is appointed head of Global Transaction Banking and deputy head of Global Transaction & Payment Services starting from May 2, 2013.

He will report to Pascal Augé, head of Global Transaction & Payment Services.

In his new role Mr Behaghel’s main objective will be to drive Societe Generale GTB’s development strategy by supporting its client base of corporate and financial institutions in the management of their global relationships.

Mr Behaghel will have direct supervisory responsibilities for Societe Generale GTB’s four main business lines: corporate cash management, cash clearing/correspondent banking, international trade financing services, and factoring, and will be able to draw on the resources of the Societe Generale Group’s international network.

Christian Behaghel, an ESSEC graduate, joined Societe Generale in 1976.

Following various overseas jobs in the Group’s Corporate & Investment Banking division, in 1992 he was appointed Head of Financial Engineering before joining the Large Corporates division in 1998.

In 2009, he became Global Head of Large Corporate clients for the Retail Banking in France division.
