17th Arab Investors and Businessmen Conference (ABIC) to showcase investment opportunities in line with UAE Vision 2021

Various investment avenues to be discussed among investors and Arab businessmen

HE Al MansooriAbu Dhabi, UAE, 18 October 2015: The Higher Organising Committee of the 17th Arab Investors and Businessmen Conference (ABIC), which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has lined up a host of discussions on investment opportunities in the UAE across diverse sectors, in line with the UAE Vision 2021.

These opportunities will be promoted between 16 – 17 November through several investment activities, with an aim of boosting inflow of Foreign Direct Investment, and spurring the Global Competitiveness Index and Ease of Doing Business Index. The Organising Committee has given priority to Arab investors to enhance economic exchange between regional countries.

The Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who are strong supporters of ABIC, are keen to showcase a series of pioneering and innovation-driven projects.

The event is organised jointly by the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for the Arab Countries (GUCCIAAC), the Arab League, Arab Investment and Credit Export Guarantee, , in cooperation with Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions.

HE Mohamedou Ould Mohamed MahmoudThe UAE Vision 2021 goals include increasing the net inflow of Foreign Direct Investment from 2.66% to 5% in 2021, raising the Gross National Income (GNI) per Capita from Rank 6 (2012) to among top 10 countries in the world, increasing Global Competitiveness Index from Rank 12 (2014-2015 report) to among top 10 countries, in addition to many others goals.

“In collaboration with our partners, we have arranged significant investment opportunities during the 17th ABIC that are in line with the objectives of UAE Vision 2021, which aimed to build a competitive knowledge-based economy. We are focused on making the event fruitful and beneficial for participants and Arab countries,” said HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the 17th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference.

ABIC will be held on 16 and 17 November at Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel – Abu Dhabi. This conference represents an Arab economic and investment gathering aimed at attracting investment to various sectors and services across all Arab countries.
