The second regional CFO conference organised by the Middle East CFO Alliance last December at the Ritz Carlton, Dubai, was judged another huge success. With this event, MECA accomplished the prestigious milestone of successfully organising four CFO Conferences within a record period of 12 months.

More than 200 CFOs and senior finance executives from organisations across the region representing multiple industries attended the event. Many delegates travelled from the US, Europe, India, Pakistan and other Gulf countries. Senior partners from Big Four and representatives from IMA, ACCA, AFP, ICAI, ICAP and other professional firms also actively participated.

Surya Subramanian, the group CFO of Emirates NBD Bank, delivered the keynote speech, while other top executives from HSBC, the Albatha Group, the Alturki Group, and other regional and international organisations shared their insight on “How to Drive Corporate Performance through Finance Excellence”.

A panel discussion comprising of senior CFOs, subject matter experts and partners from Big Four deliberated on how to balance the role of finance between being a controller and business partner.

The conference ended with the roll out of MECA’s CFO Mentorship Programme that is set to start in January, 2014.

Middle East CFO Alliance is now the largest and most active CFO networking group in Middle East with more than 5,000 members across the region.
